Ordered Universe at the Royal Society Public Lectures: Open House

IMG_2172The Medieval CosmosThe Ordered Universe, in the persons of Brian Tanner and Giles Gasper, will be delivering a public lecture at the Royal Society as part of its Open House Weekend.

‘A 13th century theory of everything’

will explore the unifying aspects of Grosseteste’s scientific thought as he moves from the creation of the universe to the natural phenomena by which we are surrounded. The collaborative model of the Ordered Universe project allows the different voices of humanities and scientific research to come to bear Grosseteste’s remarkable vision, and the primary place he gave to the physics and metaphysics of light – entirely appropriately for the UNESCO Year of Light celebrations.

The lecture is free, and takes places: 12:00 pm — 1:00 pm on Saturday 19 September 2015, at the Royal Society, London. Tickets can be picked up on the day from the information desk and doors open 15 minutes before the start of the lecture.

We are delighted to be back at the Royal Society, following the public lecture in March last year. If you’re in London, with nothing else to do on a Saturday lunchtime, we’d love to see you there!
