Time and Time-Reckoning in Medieval and Contemporary Scientific Perspectives

Four presentations from the Ordered Universe conference at Università di Rome ‘Tor Vergata’ on the 6th April 2016. The papers all covered aspects of time and time-reckoning, from medieval meteorology, to Grosseteste’s Commentary on Aristotle’s Physics, the controversies in 13th century astronomical debate and the modern understanding of the development of the universe. Anne Lawrence-Mathers (University of Reading, UK), Neil Lewis (Georgetown, USA), Philipp Nothaft (All Souls College, University of Oxford, UK) and Richard Bower (Durham University, UK) offer their papers in order.
