The OxNet programme is coming to the north-east of England with the launch of a hub based at Southmoor Academy in Sunderland. The OxNet north-east hub will work in conjunction with the Ordered Universe project based at Durham University in order to provide a series of seminars, two-day workshops, skills days, and finally a summer school held at Oxford University incorporating science, social science, and humanities topics.
Our current cohort are drawn from schools around the North-East, from Chester-le-Street, Middlesborough, Sunderland, Washington, Redcar, Newcastle, Guisborough, Peterlee, Seaham, Houghton Le Spring, Seaham, and Stockton-on-Tees. We are at the half-way point of the programme, having completed the skills training day and the seminar series. Covid-19 means that the Easter and Summer schools will be virtual, but we are well prepared for tours of the medieval and modern universes!
If you would like to know more about OxNet you can watch a short film with some of the very talented student participants from the 2018 group here.
